Autumnal Interlude

DURING THE long autumnal break I had a forced disagreement with my laptop which left me without for a good long while.  Faced with the prospect of undying boredom or reading a good book, I chose the latter.  I ended up hoovering my way through several books, which can be found here.

I also caught up on a little music.

Love Is...

‎

Life

IT'S BEEN an odd year of extreme contrasts, light and shade.  As the solar year draws to an end I've been pruning and clipping posts, dead-heading fading blooms.

Whilst away, I marked the passage of autumn from crisp vermilion to overripe ochre.  Watched the sky transform into all the colours of the world.  And painted and wrote.  Sometimes I baked a little.  But mostly, I let the season run through me with all it's transformative strength, and emerged on the other side, different.

Red leaves blow in the wind leaving home and everything it's known behind, barren branches wave goodbye as the red leaves slowly die.

And now, to normal scheduling.

Running Risks

Waiting hurts.  Forgetting hurts.
But not knowing which decision to take
Is the worst of sufferings.

It is necessary to run risks.
We can only properly understand the miracle of life
When we allow the unexpected to happen.

Patience

The two hardest tests on the spiritual road
Are the patience to wait for the right moment
And the courage not to be disappointed
With what we encounter.
